Frank Melville came from New York City to the Three Village area in 1900. He built
a home in Setauket long before the roads were paved. Shortly after moving here,
the road we know today as Quaker Path was built. This is the same road that takes
you to the Old Field Club today. In 1929, Frank’s son Ward, built The Old Field
Club. It was originally a swim club built for the enjoyment of the residents of
Old Field South. It has evolved into a private tennis and beach club, and the building
has retained the charm of its history.
Nestled in the historic Three Villages, the area offers many Inns and Bed and Breakfast
facilities. For more information on local places of interest, please visit our Destination
